Inspired by the weekly series on A Beautiful Mess, I want to take some time to reflect on the previous week - what was fun, what brought me joy, and probably cute animal pictures - in order to start the following week on a positive note and beat the Sunday Scaries.
Hi there! I had another 3 day workweek - I'm definitely starting to get used to those - that ended with a long weekend in San Diego. Even though the rainy season in Seattle has just begun, it was nice to get away to a little sunshine and warmer weather. It was tough coming back to reality (and laundry) today, but there was so much that happened that made this week great!
Seeing sooo many of favorite animals at the San Diego Zoo - capybaras, tapirs, orangutans, polar bears, lions, and tigers. We went on a Friday, so there wasn't a huge crowd, and the animals were super active!
Watching the sunset at La Jolla Cove with sea lions barking in the background.
Trying new (to me) breweries in San Diego. I spent Thursday afternoon at Stone Brewing while Adam wrapped up at work. We made a stop at Helm's Brewing in Ocean Beach. Annnnd, we made two trips to Modern Times Beer.
All the glorious food we ate this weekend including Oreo pancakes, churros, carnitas fries, and In-N-Out.
Having a belated Friendsgiving dinner.
Drinking wine and eating cheese at work on Wednesday afternoon. Then having a second glass of wine while I stayed late to finish up before vacation!
This majestic beastie!
100% on point memes about diabetes.
Learning about Gritty via a recent episode of Reply All. I listened to this on the flight to San Diego was dying. Then, I made Adam listen because I did a terrible job describing Gritty and thought it was just as hilarious the second time around.
Unfortunately, I have a full week in the office coming up. But I'm planning a "Friendsmas" brunch on Saturday, so I have something fun to look forward to. My free time this upcoming week will probably be full of pinning recipes and decor ideas, which I'm definitely not complaining about.
Have a great week!
XO
